THE TRAIL RIDE AT ROUND VALLEY

After a week of rain the NJQHA All Breed Charity Trail Ride was greeted by the SUN!  Which proves “It never rains on a NJQHA Ride!“  A picture perfect day welcomed more than 70 participants and 65 horses. Due to the terrain at Round Valley, the trails were firm and dry.

This picturesque ride traveled the rim of the Round Valley Reservoir which covers 2000 acres.   Three rides; walk, walk/trot and advanced were offered where scenic views of the Reservoir and  the surrounding area were abundant and enjoyed (see slide show below!).

AQHA has asked that affiliate members (NJQHA) help promote and preserve local trails.  Therefore, this Ride will benefit the Readington Trail Association.  Due to their efforts Readington  Township offers an outstanding horseback riding trail system. For information go to www.readingtontrails.org.

Following the Ride, participants were treated to a Good ol’ Summertime BBQ, ribs, chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs…don’t forget the corn on the cob!  As usual at a QH RIDE the food was outstanding…a special Thank You to our food guy, Chris Felcetto and cook Doug Walp.  More THANKS goes to Readington Trail members, our guides, Al Villani, Carolyn Ruffa, Lisa Hall and Karen Pfizenmayer.

 Sept. 12 & 13.…our overnight ride at Lusscroft Farm.  Stalls are limited, reservations must be made early.  This year we will offer a Saturday Ride only, which includes a wine and cheese after the ride.  For details and information contact Susan Auer at susra@verizon.net
